Healthcare


Health assistance takes place in Ouro Preto at the Health Center (Centro de Saúde / Unidade Básica de Saúde Bauxita), which offers free medical services in several areas (primary care medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, nutrition, psychology, dentistry, etc.), in addition to vaccines and immunizations.

The Health Center has a cooperation agreement with both the Municipality of Ouro Preto and the Unified Health System - SUS (Brazilian state funded healthcare system), serving the surrounding community with the  Family Health Strategy Program – (ESF Bauxita), as well as students, administrative staff, and faculty members of the University.

The Health Center is located at the Morro do Cruzeiro Campus, in Ouro Preto and is open from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.

Student aid


The UFOP Student Assistance Programs offer two types of aid to undergraduate and graduate students who need socioeconomic assistance:

Food allowance - benefit granted to students to cover meal costs (lunch and dinner) at the UFOP University Restaurants (RUs), in Ouro Preto, Mariana and João Monlevade campuses.
Permanence allowance - financial aid granted to the student, in order to help their stay in the University. The value of this allowance can vary from the full standard undergraduate scholarship (R$ 400.00) to partial values ​​of 75%, 50%, up to 25%, according to the classification obtained in the socioeconomic assessment: categories A, B, C or D.

IMPORTANT: In order to benefit from the Student Aid Program, the student must be previously approved in the socioeconomic assessment carried out by the Dean of Community and Student Affairs (PRACE).
