Electrical Engineering

The program is located at the Institute of Exact and Applied Sciences (Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Aplicadas - ICEA) and seeks the training of professionals with theoretical studies based in electricity, calculation, computing, and electronics. The Electrical Engineer will be able to work in industrial areas, developing projects, managing electric and automation systems. There is also the possibility of working in more creative and critical areas, putting together social issues connected to the field, as social, political, and environmental context, questioned in the undergraduation.
The program offers three concentrations options: Electric Systems, Controlling Systems, and Telecommunications, and it capacitates the student to be a professional capable of working in an inconstant market, which needs dynamism and quick adaptation.

Career Oportunities

The application of the whole theory and practice studies during the undergraduation capacitates the student to develop electrical and electronic devices which solve problems in several areas. The electrical engineer is ready to project, develop, and manage electric, automation, and telecommunication systems. They will also be able to apply concepts in other knowledge areas, as studies continue in graduate programs, to work in the areas of teaching and research.
