Information Systems

Created in 2005, the program's main focus is to educate professionals prepared to implement new information technologies and information management. The undergraduate student in this program will be able to solve organizational problems using concepts, methods, techniques, and specific tools. They will also be able to identify computer solutions based in the knowledge of the state of information technology and its applications in the organizational world. The student can also create specific projects involving both hardware and software tools and contextualization in the organizational environments and knowledge of managing functions. The student’s skills inside the Management Information Systems will allow the identification and analysis of a company’s database flow. After that, they will be able to model and propose computer solutions to the management of such information, aiming at the innovation of business’ processes and operations.

Career Oportunities

The  Information Systems’ professional is able to work in industry, commerce, and public institutions as a software developer, technology consultant, manager in technology areas and systems analyst, or even as an entrepreneur of their own business. According to the Ministry of Education (MEC), “It is estimated that the market needs 50 to 75% more graduates from these programs over the total amount of graduates needed for the computing market.”
