UFOP welcomes new international graduate students for 2023/1 academic semester

On March 9, the International Relations Office (Diretoria de Relações Internacionais - DRI) promoted the welcome meeting for foreign students coming over to UFOP for the 2023/1 academic semester through the Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities – (GCUB)/International Mobility Program: GCUB-Mob.


The meeting aimed to present the University and provide information about the academic life and the stay in Brazil, organized by the International Relations Office team: Anderson Gamarano, Director of International Relations, and Ana Clara Nobiling and Clarissa Lemos, assistants from the DRI Welcome Project.

They welcomed 9 of the 26 new GCUB-Mob students from Colombia, Haiti, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Príncipe, who will be attending graduate programs in Communication, Ecology of Tropical Biomes, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mineral Engineering, Geotechnics, History, and Chemistry. Besides, most of the other students will arrive over the next few weeks, and the remaining students are expected to join UFOP in the second half of 2023.

According to the 2023/1 Cultural Calendar, on Saturday, March 18th, the DRI team took a tour through the cities of Ouro Preto and Mariana with those new students. The main idea was to present tourist attractions and help them adapt to these cities. For the complete agenda, visit the link.
