The Performing Arts Graduate Program (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes Cênicas - PPGAC) of UFOP's Institute of Philosophy, Arts and Culture (Instituto de Filosofia, Artes e Cultura - IFAC) was created in 2013 and approved by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES) in the same year, but its activities started in 2014. PPGAC's master's program intends to graduate highly qualified professionals to work with the teaching and research related to the Performing Arts Concentration Area and to contribute to the training of undergraduate professors. The program is focused on two lines of research: 1) Aesthetics, Critics, and History of Performing Arts and 2) Processes and Poetics of the Contemporary Scene. The program intends to engage students from this area and also students who have graduated in humanities programs that are interested in the research of the Performing Arts field, such as Education, Philosophy, Letters, History, Social Sciences, Architecture, among others.
