UFOP’s Urban Engineering Program began its activities in the first semester of 2018, with the purpose of training professionals to promote integration and dialogue between several sectors of cities’ infrastructure. In this context, it’s necessary to actualize a character who is capable of evaluating and proposing solutions integrated for a diversity of problems. This character is the urban engineer.
During their participation in the program, students have the opportunity of complementing its theoretical basis with practice activities, such as lab experiments, social experiments, and model elaborations. Study travels to familiarize the students with elements of reality also help the student’s background.
The Urban Engineer works in the search for the best solutions for cities’ problems and also in the scientific areas of research and technological development applied to the full understanding that cities are for mankind.
