UFOP professor delivers a seminar in an Italian university.

Professor Evandro José Medeiros Laya from the UFOP Graduate Program in Communication (PPGCOM)  gave the seminar "Innovazione Sostenibile Inclusiva: reti digitali e tecnologie ancestrali nelle esperienze di narrazioni autonome indigene in Brasile",in La Sapienza University, in Rome, on March 13.

The presentation is the result of his postdoctoral research developed in the Department of Communication and Research and Social, La Sapienza University. Evandro says that it was interesting to highlight to the participants the opposition between the sustainability Western idea and the indigenous way of life. "When we think about sustainability, we are assuming the separation between humans and non-humans, and that the environment, objects, everything that is inanimate exist to serve humans. For the Indigenous people, this does not make sense", explains the professor.

The Seminar is part of the master's degree in Social Design for Sustainability, Innovation and Gender Inclusion and was carried out in partnership with Professor Mariella Nocenzi, supervisor of the postdoctoral internship  and coordinator of Sostenibilia: observatory for social networks and sustainability, where Evandro carries out his research in Rome.

Evandro's research is funded by CNPq (Brazil National Council for Scientific and Technological Development).
